Hyperskill has its own IDE plugin for working on projects and solving problems directly in JetBrains IDEs.
If you previously used the JetBrains Academy plugin for Hyperskill, install the Hyperskill plugin to continue learning in the IDE. Your learning progress is stored on Hyperskill, so no manual migration is required.
Install the Hyperskill plugin
- Open your JetBrains IDE.
- Go to Settings/Preferences → Plugins → Marketplace.
- Search for Hyperskill.
- Click Install.
- Restart the IDE if prompted.
Log in to Hyperskill
After installing the plugin:
- Go to Settings/Preferences → Tools → Hyperskill.
- Click Log in.
- Complete the authorization in your browser if prompted.
Once you're signed in, you can open supported Hyperskill projects and problems in your IDE and continue learning.
FAQ
What about the JetBrains Academy plugin?
You don't need the JetBrains Academy plugin to work on Hyperskill projects and problems.
If you use the JetBrains Academy plugin for its own learning content, you can keep it installed separately.
Will my progress be preserved?
Yes. Your learning progress is stored on Hyperskill and is available after you sign in to the Hyperskill plugin with your account.
Will installing the plugin affect my IDE settings?
No. Installing the Hyperskill plugin doesn't change your IDE preferences such as themes, fonts, keymaps, or other installed plugins.
I can't log in
If you're having trouble signing in, restart the IDE and try again.
If the issue persists, contact Hyperskill Support and include:
- your IDE name and version;
- your Hyperskill plugin version;
- a screenshot of the error, if available;
- your IDE logs.
Which IDE should I use?
Use the JetBrains IDE supported by your Hyperskill project or programming language. For example:
- IntelliJ IDEA for Java and Kotlin;
